At the recent GEOINT 2013* Symposium in Tampa, Fla., Intelligence Community (IC) leaders gathered to share their insights on future innovations, threats and opportunities that will shape our national security efforts.
One issue clearly rose to the top during many of the discussions, which were the budget challenges that are impacting the government contracting community providing products and services to the IC and the Department of Defense.
James R. Clapper, Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), provided the first keynote address and offered a candid assessment of the current budget environment, where he stated that the decreasing budget cycle would continue into the future.
Clapper also discussed how the new mindset of “doing more with less” is not working and that the IC is doing “less with less,” which compromises our power as a global leader.
