Christopher Helmrath, MBAChris Helmrath manages and directs SC&H Capital, SC&H Group's Merger and Acquisition Services practice, along with the firm's Management Consulting practice. With more than 25 years of experience in the corporate financial services arena, representing public and privately held companies, Chris' consulting practice concentrates in the areas of corporate divestitures and acquisitions; raising debt and equity financing; management consulting; business valuations; and transaction advisory services. He brings an excellent depth of knowledge across many industries including Federal Government Contracting, Information Technology, Banking and Financial Services, Manufacturing, Distribution, Consumer Products, Business Services, Automobile Dealers, and Not-For-Profit institutions. Chris began his career with a Fortune 100 financial services firm. After almost 10 years with the firm, he entered the consulting arena by joining a national accounting firm. Throughout his career, he has conducted transactional and financial advisory service assignments involving an aggregate of over $5 billion in assets. At SC&H Capital, Chris has been instrumental in providing transaction advisory services associated with acquisitions and divestitures, and providing strategic advisory services to increase shareholder value. Chris currently serves in a variety of leadership and Board positions for the following organizations; the Association for Corporate Growth – Maryland and National Capital Chapters; Good Samaritan Hospital; Greater Baltimore Technology Council; Maryvale Preparatory School; State of Maryland Security Technology Initiative Corporation; the Archdiocese of Baltimore; and the Wheeling Jesuit University. He has served on the boards of the Baltimore County Executive Advisory Board on Education; the Carey Business School M B A Advisory Board; Catholic Charities; the Loyola College Accounting Advisory Board; and the Supportive Housing Group. In addition to his work in the business world, Chris takes an active role in shaping future business leaders. He holds academic appointments in two graduate schools of business, The Carey Business School at Johns Hopkins University and The Sellinger School of Business at Loyola University Maryland. He served as the Director of the M B A Capstone Program at Johns Hopkins University for over 10 years, and in 2003, he received the Johns Hopkins Alumni Association Excellence in Teaching Award, honoring the outstanding educator in the graduate school of business. Chris was named one of SmartCEO Magazine’s "Top Advisors" in Maryland and was recognized by the Baltimore Business Journal as one of "40 Under 40" business leaders in the Baltimore business community. He is a frequent national and regional speaker and author on issues affecting corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, capital markets, and business valuation. Additionally, Chris is a frequent contributor to the Baltimore Business Journal and the Washington Business Journal. Chris earned a B. A. in Economics from Miami University and an M. B.A. in Finance from Loyola College, graduating at the top of his class. He is registered with FINRA as a General Securities Registered Representative and Principal (Series 7, 24, 63 and 79).
